Born on December 20, 1988 in Surrey, British Columbia, Intense (thisizintense), who’s real name is Aneil Singh Kainth, started producing music at the young age of 12. He first found a passion for music when he taught himself the dhol, a classical South Asian instrument. He had learnt the dhol alongside his cousins, where they all had taught each other. Intense was close with his cousins and friends growing up, listening to a wide variety of genres of music with them, such as: Bhangra/Punjabi, Rap, Hip-Hop, Rock and many more. Listening to a plethora of genres, plus learning the dhol, taught Intense to blend rhythm and musical patterns.

Alongside starting his career as a premier South-Asian music producer, Intense was a DJ. He would perform at weddings and local events, with big names such as Jassi Sidhu, Malkit Singh, Bally Sagoo, Panjabi MC, and DJ Sanj, just to name a few.

As a music producer, Intense started fusing his own production with old school Punjabi songs to create an innovative sound. He started teaming up with local artists in Vancouver, which started his full production journey. Intense’s first single was sung by local artist Gurteshwar Grewal, called “Dil Dangdi.” This gave him the realization that people enjoyed his music. This was just the beginning.

Shortly after releasing his first single, Intense released his album, “More Than Just a DJ.” This album signifies Intense’s transition from just making remixes as a DJ to a music producer. After Intense got a taste of the producer lifestyle, he wanted to try on a bigger stage, Bollywood. In Bollywood, he made songs with the likes of Mika Singh, Ikka, Sunny Leone and many more.

With his success in Bollywood, Intense came to the realization that the songs doing well in India were not translating well into the Canada and North American market. He decided to come back to take over the South Asian music market, which he did. With hits with well-established stars, such as: Amrit Maan, Garry Sandhu, and Jasmine Sandlas, Intense quickly turned into a household name. He also had an ear for new talent, as he had made songs with the likes of Sidhu Moosewala, Karan Aujla, AP Dhillon, Gurinder Gill and GS Hundal before their careers catapulted.

Now, with the release of Diljit Dosanjh’s album, “Moonchild Era,” and the creation of Double-Up Entertainment, Intense is looking to push his sound to the next level. Stay tuned to see what Intense is going to do next.
